Thank you to everyone who attended the Poly Green Schools Campaign Student-Led Climate Town Hall on Saturday, April 17th from 4-5 PM! We had over 75 people attend and were thrilled with the opportunity to present our work on transitioning LBUSD off of fossil fuels to the Long Beach Community!
We are especially grateful for our 4 guest speakers. Mary Lunetta, the Senior Campaign Representative at Sierra Club's Ready for 100 presented on Implementing a Clean Energy Resolution for School Districts. Long Beach Vice Mayor and Councilmember Rex Richardson presented on What a 100% Clean Energy LBUSD Means for the City of Long Beach. LAUSD Board Member Scott Schmerelson presented on the Benefits of a 100% Clean Energy Transition for Students and LBUSD. Christos Chrysiliou, the LAUSD A&E Director also presented on A School District's Role in Transitioning to Clean, Renewable Energy.
LBUSD Board Member Megan Kerr, Superintendent Dr. Jilll Baker, LBUSD Facilities Director Alan Reising, and Long Beach Polytechnic High School Principal William Salas were among the many to attend the Town Hall!
